Cycling In Mumbai

A few days ago I blogged about why we have stopped doing silly things. Now that the thought had stayed with me for close to a month now, I finally decided to do something about it. I decided to rent a cycle and go cycling in Mumbai. The first thought was scary; I have not cycled for like 15 years now, what if I have forgotten how to do it? There way too much traffic in Mumbai, what if I get into an accident? So I asked a friend to tag along, I told him to ride in front of me so I could just follow him. Initially, because it was late evening, there was traffic and the ride wasn’t as enjoyable as I wanted it to be. However, as we got closer to 10pm-ish the traffic subsided and it was a dream to ride. We went all the way from Dadar to Horiman Circle. I personally find the southern part of Mumbai absolutely mesmerising; especially at night when there is less traffic, lesser people and the lights have come on. The old heritage buildings look stunning, the empty roads add to the ...

Aarey re - #SaveAarey

If you live in Mumbai, I am sure you are well aware of the Aarey plight. A citizen-led protest that is taking over the state government for the benefit of the city’s ecology and people, is all over the news these days. It is common knowledge that the easiest way to keep the pollution low is to plant more trees. Mumbai, along with several Indian cities, has been topping the charts of “Most polluted cities” across the globe. Mumbai is also one of the few cities which has a forest and wildlife living right in the heart of the city. In such a scenario, it should be obvious that protecting a forest that is providing us with fresh air should be our top priority – unfortunately, it isn’t. So let me start with a few crucial reasons why it is important to save the Aarey Forest, It is a part of the only surviving green lung of the city. So if you want purified air for yourself and your family, this issue should be important to you. To save wildlife and protect the ecolo...

3 Easy Ways To Always Stay Positive

Photo by Andrea Piacquadio from Pexels There's one thing that I have noticed, people are easily annoyed. They are easily annoyed by everything, they are also annoyed because they find someone else annoying. Why so? Have you ever wondered? It seems like these days we are constantly looking for ways to outrage about something. The sad part is, we don't even outrage right. A facebook post or a tweet isn't going to change much, but it sure will spoil your mood and make you grumpy for the rest of the day. Instead of being forever grumpy, why don't we decide to look at the bright side. For example, my boss today asked who all had reached office. Instead of pointing out the one person who was late, I instead sent him a group picture of everyone who had reached on time. So, if you are looking for a quick fix for positivity? Here’s my small contribution, Be Grateful It feels like I am circling back on the same thing, but be...

Oriflame SkinPro Cleansing System – Review

I started using Oriflame SkinPro Cleansing System around a month and a half back. I did to a first impressions on my Instagram (you can follow me there for more such videos. Id is @poojamahimkar). I wanted to give it proper time, use the product daily and then review it, thus such a delay. I was contemplating buying a product like this for a while now, I was planning to get clearsonic but then I got to know that my trusted Oriflame also has a cleansing system, and thus chose to get one from Oriflame. I have been using Oriflame products for a while now and have never been disappointed. Getting to the review, I have been loving what it does to my skin. I use it every night after removing my makeup. You can use it to remove your make up as well, but I noticed that the brush gets dirty with all the makeup. Also you cannot use this to remove your eye makeup, thus I prefer using it after removing my makeup so when I use this, it removes all the makeup that I couldn’t get ou...

Uber chronicle

After a long week, it was finally time for the weekend. She couldn’t wait to get home. She checked both Ola and Uber and they both had surge prices, so they were going to charge her more than double the usual fare to get me home. She thus decided to opt for a pool, hoping she will be lucky enough to not share my cab with anyone. She booked a cab, it was four minutes away and she noticed that she had to share it with two other people, she cancelled it. Checked the apps for other options, didn’t find anything. She booked an uberpool again and got the same cab and it was like 30 seconds away from where her location. She cursed herself and unwillingly went downstairs. The cab was waiting just outside the office, she got in. She was sharing the cab with two other men, let’s call them A and B. Driver: hello ma’am, why did you cancel the cab earlier? She: (I was pleasantly surprised that we were conversing in English) Oh, I was just trying my luck. I thought I could find a cab...

Poetry by Love and Cheesecake, Bandra - Review

If you are looking for a chic place for your breakfast with the girls, this might be the place for you. The pretty looking place also serves yummy food. I have honestly only tried desserts here and they are delicious! I am soon planning to go there for breakfast as well. It is a little cramped but they do have a seating area upstairs, I honestly like to sit on the ground floor. I also tried their cold coffee, nice but not excellent. Nothing extraordinary but on a hot summer Mumbai afternoon, this can be really refreshing and welcoming. We had a Belgian Chocolate Marquise, Devil’s Desire and a Hazelnut Coffee Frappe All of it was absolutely yum, the Belgian Marquise was soft and creamy with an almost melt in mouth texture. The Devil’s Desire come in a bar form with a browny core, again, super delicious. The frappe however was average. Make sure to take a couple of pictures at this place for your Instagram, the place is beautiful.

Mom Found A Condom

Never in her life had she thought that she will ever say this. Of course since she had started dating quite early, she was sure that her mom had a hunch that she may be involved in some making out, but sex?! She didn’t think she mother was ready for that revelation. Honestly, even she wasn’t ready to her mother finding out. It was a morning like every other, both of them were in a hurry to get the morning chores done and leave for work. She was curling her lashes, when her mother pulls out the condom and confronts her. Mom: I found this yesterday. Where did this come from? She: I have no idea, this isn’t mine. Mom: How did it come in the house? What are you upto? She: That’s not mine. Why would I even bring that in the house? Mom: You said you won’t bring that into the house. You didn’t say that you don’t use it. She had no idea how to respond to that, she said that it’s not hers one more time and went back to getting ready. She doesn’t even remember if she curled...
