A simple, straight forward journey of an athlete, who didn’t well, get to play much.
Of course, the story of Pravin Tambe is a class
example of perseverance and dedication but talking strictly about the movie, I
love the simplicity that is showcases. I am sure it stems from the fact that
Tambe lead such a humble life, with just one goal in mind – play Ranji or win
the Times Cricket Shield.
The chawl setup, the hardships of living a
middle-class life, the constant struggle to find a job while still being
dedicated to your dream is not easy, but Tambe did it really well.
The reason I liked the movie is because it is not
super sentimental or emotional to make one feel Tambe’s pain. The movie
instantly makes the audience connect with the protagonist and thus, it doesn’t
need to cinematically make you emotional, the story does that job.
The movie gives a neat peek into the chawl life, and
how a person struggles to find a stable job. The everyday grid is enough to
stop people from pursuing their dreams, but not Tambe.
The one thing that I learned from Tambe via the movie
is that smiling is always an option. At every downfall in his life, he would
just smile and say ‘Sagla neet hoil’ (all shall be well).
So, if you are in a mood to watch something
inspirational and yet non emotional, this is a perfect watch.
You can watch it on Disney+ Hotstar

Thanks for sharing this. I've never heard of this movie.
ReplyDeleteWas Pravin Tambe a well-known cricketer? I am not sure. Even if not, one doesn't need to be famous or popular to be inspirational, is it not? I like inspirational film. I will check this out.
