Don’t Look Up – Why It’s A Must Watch

The very first time I heard about this movie was on Twitter, every few tweets, someone was talking about this movie. Some liked it, some didn’t like it, but everyone was watching it.

Looking at the star cast, I decided to watch it and Oh My God! I would say it is a must watch for 2022!

May did not like the movie, probably because they don’t want to accept that they get played every other day. I understand, it is a bitter pill to swallow. The movie is so close to home that even if you want to detach from it and want to treat it as a movie, you know it too close to reality.

The supposedly learned, educated and informed people fall for the narrative presented to them every time, and this movie holds a mirror that you cannot escape and thus well, you don’t like it.

The movie is a tad bit slow according to me, there are moments that allow you to pause and reflect and think about the madness that’s happening on the screen. Clearly knowing that, this is not far from reality.

We already know of a few characters who would do things that the people in the movie are doing.

Maybe that is why they have made the movie a little slow, the genus of these slow moments is that it allows you time to reflect.

The rich would always try to sell a perfect future devoid of all our current miseries, while they fill their already overflowing pockets. However, when things go wrong, they would go into their backup chambers and await the end of the world to pass. While we, the mere mortals, await destruction.

Serves us right, no? For allowing them to play God and believing everything they say without a peep.

Our current climate change crisis not really very different, if things continue the way they are right now, the day is not far when we would also have to just wait around the table pretending to have a normal dinner awaiting death.
