A Day At Fort JadhavGadh, Pune – Review

I recently visited Fort JadhavGadh in Pune for a quick stay. The place is known because it is an actual fort which is turned into a hotel now, more on that and the actual stay is coming up later in the blog. How To Reach Fort JadhavGadh, Pune So, the place is around a good 3 to 4 hours away from Mumbai, including a quick pit stop. Up until you get off the Mumbai-Pune expressway, it is quite normal but after that your travel time depends on the Pune traffic. Also, the last stretch of the drive is through the interior village roads, so that slows you down a bit because you can’t speed there much. For context, we left from Mumbai at around 11.30 am and reached by 3.15 pm, with a 10 minute pit stop. Once we reached, the exterior of the place takes you back a century and you might as well be a princess returning to your fort. They have done a good job maintaining the facade and the place. Last week I spent 3 days at Kairali - The Ayurvedic Healing Village in Kerala. Nestled amidst the lush embrace of nature, this place of serenity promises a transformative experience that goes beyond mere relaxation. After a hectic few weeks at work, I was really looking forward to a relaxing weekend, and that was exactly what I was in for. DAY 1 I flew down on a 6.30 am flight from Mumbai, which was delayed by 2 hours. So after the 2-hour struggle, the sweet driver who picked me up from the Coimbatore airport, made me forget all the stress of a delayed flight. You just need that one nice simple person with a warm smile to change the vibe of your day, and this person did that for me. After around a one-and-a-half-hour drive, I arrived at Kairali. Mumbaiyya and Mumbaikar Mumbaikar, The person who stays in Mumbai is called Mumbaikar. This name generated when Bombay was renamed Mumbai, the Bombayites became Mumbaikars instead of Mumbaites. It is a complete Swadeshi transformation of the name. Many of the Marathi surnames end in 'Kar' showing originating place of the person, the same theory was applied here.
